The “Spirit of Tuskegee” and Captain Matt Quy visited the historic Moton Field in Alabama as a part of their journey. Moton Field has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was the only primary flight facility for African-American pilot candidates in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and Moton Field was named after former Tuskegee Institute principal Robert Russa Moton.
While we will hear from Capt. Quy shortly about his personal experiences about while in Alabama, here are some of the photo’s that were captured including some great pictures mid-flight!
